Education Isn’t Always in a Classroom: Rising Through Lived Experience
When you’ve walked through fire, grieved deeply, or faced wave after wave of change, you don’t just survive, you learn. Not in the academic sense. But in the soul-shaping, boundary-forging, gut-wrenching, life-giving way. That’s education too.
Over the last few days, I’ve been sitting with a familiar resistance: the struggle to go live again. It may sound simple, but behind that resistance lies an old wound. One rooted in trauma from 2020 when speaking out brought real-life consequences. Police reports. Harassment. An overwhelming pressure to stay small, stay silent.
But I won’t.
Because the second E in Get Ready to Rise is for Education. And for me, it’s not just about formal qualifications or textbook knowledge. It’s about what life has taught me. It’s about what I’ve learned from being a single mum, self-employed, a woman with dreams and demons alike. It’s about learning to listen to my fear without letting it lead.
So let me share what this recent resistance has reminded me:
1. Lived Experience is a Teacher
The fear of being judged. The pull to delete social media and disappear. The question, "Why am I even doing this?" These are the questions of someone still rising...
And that’s okay.
Because every time I ask them, I find new clarity. New purpose. And I come back stronger, more certain of why I’m here.
2. You’re Not Alone in the Resistance
When I spoke to others in the various communities I am in, I realised many of us feel this wall. The fear of visibility. The reluctance to perform. The tension between being real and being 'marketable.'
You’re not lazy. You’re not weak. You’re processing. You’re learning.
3. Get Ready to Rise is a Lifestyle
It’s not just a workshop. Or a programme. It’s a commitment to growth, every day. It’s waking up and saying, "I don’t want to feel like this anymore," and choosing differently. Whether that means setting a boundary, asking for help, or showing up scared but sovereign.
Sometimes that education happens in a therapy room. Sometimes it happens in silence. Sometimes it happens while you’re building a business with a toddler at your feet.
That’s the education that sticks.
4. Being Real Matters More Than Being Perfect
I’m not here to be an influencer. I’m not here to perform for an algorithm. I’m here because I believe in connection. And because I offer more than strategy sessions. I offer space. Structure. Soul.
And the more automated my business becomes, the more sacred I hold the human parts.
A Final Note
You may be walking through your own lesson right now.
Let me remind you: You’re learning. You’re rising. And you don’t have to do it alone.
